Overview

Pupuseria Salvi’s Rialto stands out as a shining gem for Salvadoran cuisine in Rialto, California. Nestled at 883 E Foothill Blvd, this restaurant offers an authentic taste of El Salvador, bringing traditional flavors to the heart of the community. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels welcoming and genuine, evoking the spirit of a local pupuseria where family and friends gather over comforting, hearty meals.

The menu is a celebration of classic Salvadoran dishes with a spotlight on the pupusa—El Salvador’s signature stuffed corn tortilla. Salvi’s excels in its preparation, especially with varieties like Loroco con Queso and the chicharrón-filled pupusas. Their rendition is fresh, warm, and crafted with care, reflecting traditional techniques that locals and newcomers alike appreciate. The chicharrón is notably house-made, offering a crispy, flavorful bite that balances perfectly with cheese and beans.

Beyond pupusas, the restaurant serves specialties such as the Bistec De Res and Sopa De Gallina India, enriching the menu with robust, savory flavors that showcase Salvadoran comfort food at its best. Customers often praise the Típico plates as well, featuring homemade tamales and tender grilled meats—each dish serving as a delicious window into Salvadoran heritage.

The dining experience is enhanced by attentive service—staff take the time to explain dishes, making it inviting for those new to this cuisine while catering expertly to Salvadoran patrons who know exactly what they want. The space is modest and unpretentious, focusing on the food’s authenticity rather than flashy décor, which suits its target audience perfectly: food lovers seeking genuine Central American flavors in a friendly, casual setting.

Some favorites highlighted by returning guests include the freshly made curtido, a tangy, slightly fermented cabbage slaw that acts as the perfect complement to the rich pupusas and fried yuca with chicharrón. The sweet treats, like the traditional nuegados, add a delightful end to the meal, offering soft, yuca-based dough fried and drizzled with honey.

One practical note is that Pupuseria Salvi’s Rialto currently operates on a cash-only basis, though card payments may be accepted in the near future. Despite this, the loyal customer base and the consistent quality of the food make it well worth the visit.

For those seeking an authentic Salvadoran dining experience that delivers warmth, tradition, and bold flavors, Pupuseria Salvi’s Rialto is a destination that promises satisfaction. Whether you’re a longtime lover of Salvadoran cuisine or exploring it for the first time, this spot in Rialto is a vibrant celebration of culture and cuisine that invites you to return again and again.

Delicious & authentic salvadorean food. Tried the típico plate #1 & it did not disappoint. Super yummy. My husband tried the típico plate #2 & the pollo tamal was amazing. Tasted like I was eating the tamales my dad makes. We will be coming back & recommend this restaurant.

The waitress was super attentive and explained the menu to us, I’m Salvadorian so I knew what I really wanted to taste. Pupusas!!! I got 2 pupusas, one Revuelta de arroz and one cheese and lorocco de arroz. Taste wise both were good and I can tell the chicharrón is made in house, it was more chicharron than beans and cheese but I didn’t mind. The lorocco with cheese was cheesy with a lot of lorocco. I like both also I got some nuegados which I found delicious because tradicional nuegados don’t have cheese or masa, only yuca and this Is are ONLY yuca delicious.

My order always consists of yuca con chicharon, a cheese pupusa and a revuelta pupusa. Everything is always delicious, fresh and cooked to perfection. I'm a huge fan of curtido, Salvi's curtido is definitely the best I've tasted.

Im a customer from the other restaurant but this one is closer to me now! Great food as always. Garlic and cheese pupusa is what I got. The only thing is that they have cash only but the worker said they should have for card soon.
